The number everyone gets wrong when buying a solar generator
Watt-hours (Wh) is the number that actually matters when sizing a solar generator — not watts. Watts tells you how fast power flows. Watt-hours tells you how much total energy the battery holds.
A 1,000W generator with a 500Wh battery can run your 100W device for about 4 hours (accounting for efficiency losses). A 500W generator with a 1,000Wh battery runs it for roughly 8.
Most buyers fixate on peak watts. Most regrets come from undersized batteries.
